Rite of Passage Journeys is excited to our announce our First Annual Adult Wilderness Quest Reunion. The event will be held on Saturday January 30, 2010 from 1 pm until 7 pm or later. The exact place will be announced shortly on our website and as an email announcement. Please plan for an afternoon that includes the important rituals for this gathering, a time for the talking circle, and a potluck celebration. Together we will work in spirit to create a vision for our community and how we can support each others continued work in the world. If you have participated in the sacred experience of a quest you will understand how important it is to sustain the connection we |

have to this community. It is our hope that we can renew our shared experiences and strengthen our ties with each of the gifted and committed individuals whose lives journey toward self-knowledge and service. This important gathering is a shared vision, that began years ago when many of the adult quest participants expressed a desire to stay involved with each other and support the process of carrying our individual visions into the world and into the work we do in our communities. We now have the human resources in place to ensure the success of this event and to sustain our growing efforts to share the collective experience. |

I completed my Quest with Rite of Passage Journeys in 2005, which led me to see my life as a path of sacred service. The intention that I carried with me on my vision involved seeking ways to live transparently and invisibly. That is to say that you can see my heart in all that I say and do and that to do this work I must I am currently working on my graduate degree in leadership and social justice so that I can strengthen the skills necessary to impact positive change in our communities. At this stage, what excites me most is the prospect of integrating my love of traveling and cross-cultural experiences with the continued work that aligns us with the intelligence of our hearts. I am very excited and privileged to be coordinating this event and working with the members of our planning committee, who are also dedicated alumni. Each of us has personally experienced the power of the quest and we are committed to creating a meaningful experience for all of us.
Edith Kusnic , who joined Rite of Passage Journeys in 1999, has been instrumental in Journeys' formative years and her continued presence and strength guide Journeys growth. After completing her own vision quest, she served as an Adult Vision Quest Guide. She also co-facilitated a new program, "Stepping into Elderhood". I had the pleasure to speak with Edith about some of the ways she envisions this reunion. "Thinking about what it means to step fully and powerfully into the role of an elder made me begin to think about bringing more consciousness to the element of social roles and how we choose to enact them." Edith came away from this year's "Stepping into Elderhood" with a vision of creating retreats designed to witness and honor adults stepping into other life-stage-related roles. Edith's vision includes an image of adults coming together "to see Journeys as a place to come back to at various stages of adulthood."
