Salmon Song, A Poem

This poem written by Journeys Vice President Board Member, Edward Mosshart, is a powerful northwest-inspired journey story.

By Edward Mosshart, Journeys Board Vice President

Salmon knows her way home.
She offers herself fully to the journey.
Compelled to complete the cycle,
To close the circle once again.

Salmon, she lives a wisdom
I myself seem to lack.
I can’t seem to remember who I am,
I don’t know where I am going.

Yet like my sister the Salmon
I too am drawn by lines unseen.
I edge closer to the source
the beginning of all mystery.

I will try to walk in beauty.
I know the way to be.
I find humor, joy in this game…
Forgetting, just so I can remember.

Have I ever lost my way?
