Accessibility info
Rite of Passage Journeys Basecamp is situated at Songaia Cohousing Community in Bothell, WA. Songaia is a 14 acre intentional community with gardens, orchards, a common house, parking spaces and a large barn. Journeys Basecamp is located in the South East corner of the community, about a 3-5 minute walk from Lost Lake Road where we ask our participants to park. The pathway from Lost Lake Road to Basecamp is a driveway that is partially paved and partially gravel. Basecamp consists of a large meadow, fire pit & sitting circle with chairs (in the Summer), a covered outdoor kitchen and picnic area, a port-a-potty and a large yurt.
There is one step to enter the outdoor kitchen and three steps up to enter the yurt. The pathway from the gravel walkway to the yurt is a dirt pathway with some tree roots running through it. The yurt is mostly open space (although there are sometimes tables and chairs set up for workshops & events), with furniture around the outside of the space. Chairs are available in the yurt. Blankets and heaters are also available in the yurt for the Winter months. The yurt gets to a comfortable temperature in the Winter months for most people, but does not get toasty warm. We suggest warm layers if you are attending a workshop in the Winter.
If you are unable to make the 3-5 walk from Lost Lake Road to the Yurt, please let us know and we will do our best to park you in our driveway, closer to the yurt. If you need assistance with the dirt walkway due to use of a walker or other mobility device, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you need other accommodations not listed here, please reach out to us and we will do our best! You can contact us regarding any needed accommodations at info@riteofpassagejourneys.org
