Journeys offers inspiring community-building opportunities and events open to our community and the general public. These provide ways for you to learn about our programs, and allow our staff, past participants, and the Journeys’ community to reconnect with each other. They also provide meaningful ways to support our work, and assure that we are able to reach hundreds of youth, adults, and families every year!
Current opportunities include:
Seasonal Sweat lodges
Sweat lodges draw on ancient pan-cultural traditions of using fire and steam for purification and prayer. Join us to mark the turning of the seasons, share life transitions, and strengthen our community. Free and open to the public. Volunteer Opportunities
Our programs depend upon volunteers and financial donors. Their support is what keeps us energetically doing our work. Below is a list of the many ways you can become involved, whether as a regular volunteer or an occasional one. Help us make a difference in the lives of youth and adults!
Administrative Support: We are looking for one or two more people who can assist in the office on a regular weekly schedule, answering phones, assisting with mailings, etc.
Website Maintenance: Keeping this site up to date and accurate is an important part of making our programs available to those who are searching for an outdoor growth and learning experience.
Promotion Corps: We are looking for people across the continent who understand our programs who will introduce us to educators, church leaders and parents in your area.
Work Parties: Once a month, we hold work parties to mobilize collective energy to complete essential tasks, while building community and having fun. Whether it's stuffing envelopes, splitting wood for the sweat lodge, or preparing a base camp for the coming summer – we always appreciate help. Please see our upcoming events page for dates!
Summer Program Opportunities
Each summer, Journeys offers a limited number of positions for those that want to serve youth and families through our summer experiences. These positions are a great way to make a difference in the lives of youth, and learn our methods first-hand! Please see our Join our Team page for details
