We accept volunteer interns on a rolling basis, for time commitments of varying lengths. Also, please contact the Community Outreach Coordinator for more information regarding internship job descriptions.
Non-Profit Management Internships
Currently, we offer internship positions year-round in the following areas: Database, Adult Programs Outreach, Community Programs Outreach, In-Kind Donations, Programs -- Healthy Youth Passages, Web-Based and Social Media, Individual Donor Fundraising, Grantwriting, and Mission Framework.
All volunteer interns are eligible to attend one of Journeys' weekend trainings (Coming of Age Leaders Training or Creating Soulful Ritual) free of charge. Interns receive job training and mentorship, as well as the opportunity to take on and complete complex projects. In addition, college credit can be arranged. All internship positions have a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Summer Logistic Internships
We also have four full-time summer logistics internships available on a volunteer basis (two from May 26th until July 12th, and two from July 8th until August 27th). These interns greet and orient participants as they arrive at basecamp, organize and pack supplies for the summer backpacking programs, coordinate the food systems, and go out on resupply trips.
Logistics interns are invited to attend Journeys' new staff training in May, a five-day training on backpacking and wilderness skills, mentorship, group facilitation and Journeys' time-tested rite of passage curriculum. Logistics interns are also invited to live at Journeys' basecamp through the duration of their commitment, either camping on the grounds or in our yurt.
To apply, please email the Community Outreach Coordinator with your resume and cover letter. We encourage you to contact the Community Outreach Coordinator with your questions as well.
