Intern with Journeys

Journeys accepts volunteer interns on a rolling basis, for time commitments of varying lengths.

Looking for a way to give back in a big way?

Curious what it's like to work behind the scenes of a small and dynamic non-profit?

Want to work on developing your professional skills?

Journeys is the perfect staging ground for you.

We accept volunteer interns on a rolling basis, for time commitments of varying lengths. To inquire about the availability of internships, please email our office with your resume and a cover letter that mentions the internship position(s) in which you are interested. Or contact us for more information regarding internship opportunities.

Non-Profit Management Internships

Currently, we offer internship positions year-round in the following areas: Database, Program Outreach, In-Kind Donations, Web-Based Marketing and Social Media, Individual Donor Fundraising, and Grantwriting.

All volunteer interns are eligible to attend one of Journeys' weekend trainings (Coming of Age Leaders Training or Creating Soulful Ritual) free of charge. Interns receive job training and mentorship, as well as the opportunity to take on and complete complex projects. In addition, college credit can be arranged in some cases. All internship positions have a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Summer Logistic Internships

We also have four full-time summer logistics internships available on a volunteer basis (at least six weeks of service between May and September). These interns greet and orient participants as they arrive at basecamp, organize and pack supplies for the summer backpacking programs, coordinate the food systems, and go out on resupply trips.

Logistics interns are invited to attend Journeys' new staff training in June, a two-day training on mentorship, group facilitation and Journeys' time-tested rite of passage curriculum. Logistics interns are also invited to live at Journeys' basecamp through the duration of their commitment, either camping on the grounds or in our yurt.

To apply, please email our office (info@riteofpassagejourneys.org) with your resume and cover letter. We encourage you to contact the Program Director with your questions as well.
