Getting Ready For Your Program
Food: Please bring all the snacks and beverages you require to keep yourself fed and happy for the day. We will take an hour'ish lunch break, and you are welcome to bring a sack lunch, or venture into Redmond where there are various restaurants, coffee shops, Whole Foods, etc.
Please Bring:
- 3x Pint sized glass jars (mason/ball jars old or new, clean recycled food jars, etc)
- Clothing and shoes for all weather and terrain, we will be outside the whole day
- Gloves for harvesting (unless you are a bare-handed harvester!)
- Kitchen scissors, shears, snips or hand pruners, sturdy enough to snip leaves
- Snacks and beverages you need to stay nourished and hydrated
- A camp chair or other chair to sit on outside
- Face covering/mask to have if you want or need
- Notebook and pen to take notes if you desire
- Something (anything!) to place on a simple class altar if you desire
- Optional Books: The two books below are what I recommend herbal seekers in our bioregion have on hand to support their deepening studies. If you feel so called to buy them and bring them, then do so! If not, then that is 100% fine too.
-Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast by Pojar and MacKinnon
-Pacific Northwest Medicinal Plants by Scott Kloos
A Note about Covid Protocols:
Class time will be kept in the outdoor area where there is open airflow and space for our chairs to be properly spaced out. I will not be wearing a mask when teaching outside, and you are each welcome to make whatever choice about a mask that feels good and comfortable to you. Do bring a mask though, for you will want to wear one to go inside and use the bathroom, refill your water, etc. Please send me any questions about this if you have them so that we all feel safe to settle into our experience once our first class arrives.
