Dear Secret Language of Birds Participants, We are excited that you'll be joining us for a day of exploring the mysteries of the birds and their languages! There are meaningful patterns underlying our mundane experience of the world. As humans, we have an innate capacity to perceive these patterns. We often talk about such experiences in the modern day as “intuition” or moments of “synchronicity” or even “remarkable coincidence.” One of the most common metaphorical expressions of this occurs again and again throughout the world as “a little bird told me. . .” The myths and motifs of Bird Language — the ability to understand the communications of the birds — as a metaphor for connecting with the deeper underlying patterns of the world will be our starting point, as we head outside to discover our own ability to understand what it is that those birds are telling us. Join us as we rediscover the magic and mystery behind the cacophony and chorus that echoes everywhere and everyday, the joyous Language of the Birds! In this fun day of exploration outdoors we will: Explore the myths and folklore of Birds and their Speech Learn the basics of understanding Bird Language Cultivate relationships with the birds in our own lives Expand our intuition and capacity to perceive meaningful and archetypal patterns in the world We'll be gathering at a yet to be determined location. . . Covid regulations are still fluid and making it complicated, but we are confident we'll have a place soon! When we do, we'll let you know! In the meantime, plan to be outdoors most of the time (if not the whole day), bringing a packed lunch and snacks (and plenty of water to drink), and dress for the weather!!
