Hello Friends, We are so glad that you are joining us for a day of Tracking from the Heart. This will be a fun opportunity to jump into the amazing world of tracking, with an emphasis on how this ancient art helps modern people to connect more deeply with the world around them, and with their inner sense of self. You don’t need any prior experience tracking, though folks of all experience levels are encouraged to come! The more we can share our experiences with each other, the better. We’ll spend the day at Lord Hill Regional Park in Snohomish, WA. (See driving directions below). We will gather in the South gravel parking lot before heading out to the river sandbar. We’ll be on mixed terrain, including sand and gravel bars, as well as some potentially muddy swamp and river edges, so wear proper footwear (we love water shoes when it’s warm). Please bring a bag lunch (and a daypack) that you can take with you on our wanderings, so we don’t have to return to the cars for lunch if we don’t want to. And a larger size water bottle for an extended exploration. Feel free to bring field guides if you’d like, but no need to as we’ll have several for the group to use and share. We strongly recommend that you bring some kind of a notebook that you can do some track sketching in, and pens / pencils. Drawing and utilizing our artistic side will be a fun part of the day. And a small keychain-type tape measure (6’, no need for the big 25’ heavy things) would be fun but is not at all necessary. Pay attention to the weather report, and arrive prepared to be outside for the whole day.
